So over the past few days I discovered the very cool Fast Jet Performance channel and watched videos from the creator Tim Davies using the Just Flight Hawk T1/A aircraft in X Plane 11. Since then I've bought the Orbx True Earth Great Britain Central (I've always had GB South) and the Just Flight Hawk.
The Hawk is an interesting aircraft. Many of you know I fly a ton of DCS and in DCS there used to be a Hawk. I never bought it...I was close to buying but that was about the time when the developer stopped supporting the product and walked away from DCS. I feel like I dodged a bullet and missed out on wasting some money. Anyways, after seeing Mr. Davies walkthrough/talkthrough a jet he spent 1000+ hours in, I decided to give it a go in X Plane 11.
This video was compilation of clips from my short time feeling out the jet. Primarily the scenario is we depart RAF Valley and head to Pembrey Sands Air Weapons range, drop off four Mk82 500lbs bombs and do one gun pass then head back up to RAF Valley.
I'm from the US so I don't have intimate knowledge of how the weapons ranges work up in the UK. Based on what I saw in the sim and the proximity to the local populace, I doubt they really drop live bombs at Pembrey Sands. If you have more info please leave a comment below! I'm interested to hear some amplifying information.
Anyways I hope you enjoy as always! The music is Midnight Demons by Carpenter Brut.
I've had a few people ask me about my DCS video production and the lack of content as of late. There are a few factors that have been weighing on me. One is since that bad patch, I was quite put off by DCS. I was pretty bothered that the Hornet didn't even have it's air to air radar checked for a few minutes to find it was broken. Two, since 2.5.6, I have not made any system changes yet my FPS has declined and creating the smooth framerate DCS videos has become challenging. At the same time I've been on X Plane 11 beta 9 using Vulkan and I've seen very solid 60fps in some cases where that was not the case before Vulkan.
Until this period of pandemic is over with, my content production will be limited. I do apologize for those of you that subscribe to me.
I wish you all happiness and good health in these trying times and thank you for your support.
