Indian Air Force is the fourth largest force in the world. IAF is responsible for defending the Indian airspace.IAF owns different types of planes including fighter jets, bombers, special missions, transporters, helicopters, and UAVs.

IAF imports aircraft from different countries like Russia, Israel, America, the UK, and France. Also, it has produced its own jet HAL Tejas. IAF's most advanced jets are multi-role Dassault Rafale and Sukhoi 30. Other multi-role jets include Mig 29 and Tejas.
They also have attack aircraft like Mirage 2000 and SEPECAT Jaguar. The Interceptor jet for Indian Air Force is Mig 21 Bison. India AWACS include Embraer EMB 145 and Beriev A-50. IAF also has planed for air refueling which Ilyushin Il-78.
IAF used Gulfstream III for electronic warfare. For surveillance and reconnaissance, they have Boeing 707 and Gulfstream G100. They also have transport aircraft like Boeing 777, Antonov An-32, Boeing C-17, Ilyushin Il-76, C-130J Super Hercules, etc.
IAF attack helicopters include HAL Light Combat Helicopter, Boeing AH-64 Apache, Mil Mi-24, and HAL Rudra. For training of Indian air force pilots, jets like Pilatus PC-7, BAE Hawk. HAL Kiran, Jaguar, and Mig 21 are used.
India airforce also has UAVs for surveillance and attack. They include Harop, Heron, DRDO Lakshya.
Indian Jets took part in various operations and conflicts. Recently, they are engaged in the India-China border due to Ladakh Conflict.
