Why put a Modem into Bridge Mode?
The purpose of a modem is to maintain the physical link for your Internet connection. Putting a modem into bridge mode effectively disables its basic routing functions; so you can use your own full-featured router (with all of the bells and whistles). When you use your own router without putting the modem into bridge mode; you are essentially taking one router, and putting it behind another router. So what is in control of your Internet Connection?
