Jarlaxle ventured into the main hall, where the collapse had occurred, and found deep gnomes being overseen by duergars. One of the slaves was Barcus Wroot, whom Jarlaxle had previously rescued from goblins They were engaged in excavation and needed assistance. Jarlaxle decided to aid them and free them from enslavement by overpowering their masters. After that, he blasted the blocked passage, freeing the main antagonist, the drow Nere. Not allowing him to speak, the party immediately attacked and emerged victorious, claiming all the valuable items such as Disintegrating Night Walkers. The deep gnomes were incredibly surprised that the drow Jarlaxle stood on their side and expressed their gratitude for the rescue.

Джарлакс отравился в главный зал, где произошел обвал и застал там глубинных гномов под надзирательством дергаров. Один из рабов был Баркус Врут, которого Джарлакс спас ранее от гоблинов. Они были заняты раскопками и нуждались в помощи. Джарлакс решил помочь им и освободил их из рабства, сразив их господ. После этого подорвал обвалившийся проход, освободил главного злодея темного эльфа Нере. Не позволив ему заговорить, компания сразу же напала на него и победила в бою, забрав все полезные вещи, среди которых были Разваливающиеся Ночные шаги. Глубинные гномы были крайне удивлены, что темный эльф Джарлакс оказался на их стороне и поблагодарили его за спасение.
