The World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) has been active in Senegal for years, providing people with bleeding disorders (PWBDs) in the country with medical support—and hope. Support has come through two WFH programs: the WFH Humanitarian Aid Program, and the WFH Path to Access to Care and Treatment (PACT) Program. In May, the WFH Humanitarian Aid Program (https://wfh.org/humanitarian-aid/) team went to Senegal to visit a hemophilia treatment centre, the ministry of health, a blood bank, and PWBDs who have benefitted from WFH support, to see how care levels are progressing, and to determine how to best optimize support in the future.
