🚨Plane Suffers Overheating Engine - emergency landing
This plane suffers an overheating engine and declares a 7700 emergency. The Jet2 Boeing 737-800 arrives back at Manchester Airport heavy with fuel and is met by fire crews. The fire chief checks the temperatures of the No 1 engine as well as the landing gear before allowing the stricken plane to taxi to the gate.
The passengers, that were headed to Larnaca, got to the Norfolk coast before the issue arose and the plane squawked 7700 and requested to return. They were disembarked and had to wait until the following day for a Jet2 Boeing 757 rescue flight to take them to their destination.
The 737 then had further checks and maintenance and performed an engine test the next day. It’ll be back in service in the coming days.
