UPDATE: Valleyfair has contacted me and after reviewing this video has approved Logan's helmet for use in the wave pool and on waterslides.
My 16-year-old nephew, Logan, is being discriminated against by Valleyfair.
He is the size of a young man now and it scares them.
For the first time in 10 years they are saying he cannot use the waterpark because of his helmet. We've gone in circles with them on the phone, getting nowhere. I decided to make a video to show them they can't use the helmet as an excuse for not wanting him there.
The helmet/mask is not a drowning hazard like they claim. If that were the case an incident would have happened in the 10 years he's been wearing it. It also doesn't require "lifeguard training" unless Valleyfair is in the habit of hiring people who do not understand velcro.
We just want Logan accepted and for him to be able to enjoy one of his favorite summer destinations again.
