SILIKA - Experimental Short Film by Krew Filem Sek Kito
SILIKA is an experimental black & white shortfilm by KFSK.
With SILIKA, we hope to showcase experimental storytelling purely through visuals and music by combining Vantablack’s rough and textured soundscapes with KFSK’s guerilla style filmmaking.
There is no dialogue in the short film. Any narrative or emotional expression by the cast is done mainly through dance movements and performance art choreographed by Eli Orkid. SILIKA was filmed at the height of the pandemic, just before the second MCO. SILIKA employs a “snapshot of life” style of filmmaking that sheds a candid light on everyday ordinary people: the bus riders, the pasar malam goers, the street sweepers, the charming barbers, the gerai owners -- the true masses.

SILIKA adalah sebuah filem eksperimental hitam putih, terbitan Krew Filem Sek Kito (KFSK).
Melalui Silika, kami ingin mempersaksikan penceritaan eksperimental yang tulus visual dan muziknya melalui gabungan unik “vantablack” dan jalinan bunyian, selain gaya perfileman gerila oleh KFSK.
Tiada dialog yang hadir di dalam filem ini. Seluruh naratif dan ekspresi emosi yang dimainkan watak adalah gerak tari semata dari seni persembahan yang dikareografi oleh Eli Orkid. SILIKA difilemkan di tengah kemuncak pandemik, ketika PKP ke 2 hampir tiba.
