1st Motorcycle Build - Tamiya 1/12 scale Ducati 1199 Panigale S, Part 4 Finished
Finally finished the build and really enjoyed it. It took a lot longer than expected as this was supposed to be a quick break from Mikasa.
There were a number of mistakes made and several flaws in the finish here and there but particularly with the fairings which could have had more surface prep but overall for a first bike I am happy how it turned out.
The Tamiya kit was well engineered and went together very well for the most part. There are a few parts which could have better mounting surfaces and maybe the instructions could have installation numbers e.g I mounted the rear pad to the tail piece which should have been done after the seat is fitted which was a struggle to force in..
The Tamiya fork set is superb, the quality of the parts and finish was perfect.
The Hobby Designs detail set was okay. The instructions, or lack of, let the set down as there are multiple parts not covered and I couldn't be bothered trying to work out where they all go. I really only wanted the brakes and chain set so not to big of an issue but paying premium to only use part of the set.
