MIDI Composition: Making Your VST Arrangements Sound Realistic
Have you ever A/B’d your track with a commercial release and wondered why it doesn’t sound as good?
Whether you’re composing library music for TV & Film licensing or producing music for commercial release, it needs to have that slick professional sound. Our music will not get picked up for TV and Sync licensing opportunities if it sounds like it was programmed in our bedroom. If we want to generate regular passive income from our music, it needs to sound like it was recorded at Abbey Road.
If we don’t have the budget for that, we turn to sampled instruments or VSTs (Virtual Studio Technology). But we need to make sure that when we’re composing using MIDI, that not only are our MIDI arrangements as slick as possible, but that our VSTs sound AS REALISTIC AS POSSIBLE.
As a TV and film composer, I have perfected my MIDI technique over years and years of practice and now I am willing to share my knowledge so that you don't have to struggle in the same way.
