Sumpfmeisen beim Nestbau
Vor ein paar Tagen konnte ich Sumpfmeisen beobachten die Nistmaterial in ihre Nisthöhle brachten. Das Astloch war gerade noch gross genug, dass sie durchschlüpfen konnten. Beim Beobachten bekam man aber das Gefühl, als ob man ihnen etwas helfen müsste. Mit dem Schnabel voll Nistmaterial fehlten irgendwie Hände die nötig gewesen wären, um sich abstossen zu können. Dafür dürfte die Höhle guten Schutz vor den meisten Nesträubern bieten.

A few days ago I saw marsh tits bringing nesting material into their nest hole. The knothole was just big enough for them to slip through. But when you watched, you got the feeling that you had to help them a little. With the beak full of nesting material, there were somehow missing hands that would have been necessary to be able to push off. In return, the cave should offer good protection from most nest robbers.
