The Day They Came Together
This poem tells a true story. After watching an "Immortals' episode of 'This Is Your Life' back in the late 90s, Rupert was inspired to imagine what it would be like if he walked into that pub with his brother on a Saturday afternoon in Augathella. For the trivia buffs, Rupert met and married his wife in that western Queensland town - her hometown - it was an Easter weekend wedding and, with the guests who travelled to attend, they doubled Augathella's population!
