When you are ready to take your training to the next level, join Skyra Studios Summer Intensives in dance, acting, or filmmaking. Summer Intensives provide a deep dive into dance, acting, or film technique as they prepare you for a career as a professional artist. Programs are designed to address the individual technical and artistic needs of intermediate and advanced/pre-professional students.
Our 2018 Summer Intensive includes special guest instructors such as Duncan Cooper, Rasta Thomas, Anthony Morigerato, Christopher Broughton, Tony Yazbeck, Rory Freeman and more. Along with our guest instructors, you will receive training from our exemplary Skyra faculty: award-winning choreographers and industry professionals with decades of training and performance experience, boasting connections to top agents, casting directors, directors, producers, and distributors. They are passionate about the arts, believe in educating through positive reinforcement and respect, and together represent a vast knowledge in all aspects of visual and performing arts.
Skyra Studios is Central Florida’s only performing arts training center that offers a one of a kind opportunity for aspiring dancers, actors, filmmakers, and artists to gain real-world experience. All classes are taught by professional working dancers, performers, choreographers, and production experts, so your kids leave with something more meaningful than Instagram posts and Snapchat videos.
The Skyra Dance Academy is a youth-driven program offering superior quality training aimed at creating both classical and contemporary professional dancers. With the help of nationally renowned professionals, we have developed a program focusing on discipline, technique, and artistry. Whether your goals are to become a professional classical ballet dancer or a well-rounded professional prepared to make it in another area of dance, we will empower you with the training you need to succeed.
The education at Skyra doesn’t stop in the classroom. Our unique background in the entertainment industry allows us to offer our students the opportunity to receive professional industry experience. Our programs will have cross-functionality with actors, artist, dancers, and filmmakers coming together to create unique and original stories. During our summer sessions, we will shoot two film shorts that both actors and dancers can be a part of. Students will strengthen their talents and learn the practical side of working on location, with producers, directors, and production teams. At the conclusion, your kids will leave Skyra Studios with the technical know-how, a finished short film, and a professional credit on IMBD (Internet Movie Database), not to mention a true sense of what awaits them in the real world!
