Emily Stamm, President of CSNP (CyberSecurity NonProfit) gives 5 tips for everyday internet safety. This video is in partnership with Breezeline. To learn more about Breezeline, visit breezeline.com.

Note that this video is intended for a general audience, and some of the technical terms and tips have been simplified accordingly.

TIPS:

1. Avoid insecure websites by looking next to the web address for an insecure warning.

2. Make sure the web address is correct and not misspelled, as hackers create malicious websites similar to popular websites.

3. Use DuckDuckGo for privacy to avoid being tracked online. Visit https://www.DuckDuckGo.com to learn more.

4. Use a VPN (Virtual Private Network) for privacy and security so hackers cannot access the data you’re sending to and receiving from a website. There are paid and free VPNs e.g. https://protonvpn.com. See also list of top free VPNs: https://www.vpnoverview.com/best-vpn/....

5. Be cautious of public Wi-Fi, and avoid logging into your bank’s website, making an online payment, or entering personal information.
