My KBDFans Tofu was the ping and reverb king. It sounded terrible. The stock Cherry MX black switches didn't help matters as the springs are notoriously pingy. I left it stock so I could find out how much difference lubing and sorbothane would make. It made a pretty big difference.
Hopefully your speakers or headphones can pick up the terrible sound of the keyboard before modding. I was hopeful that the sorbothane would have an effect, but I was really blown away. The lube on the switches seems to be doing a great job, too. Oiled Sprit springs drive home the point.
Feels and sounds amazing. I may try to put some extra sorbothane on the plate directly below the spacebar and fill the remaining cavities of the spacebar itself.
Have you tried sorbothane or had a similar revelation that took a keyboard from zero to hero?
Regarding the supplier that provided the sorbothane I used. 10% discount if you buy 2 sheets. Other materials are available of course, but sorbothane does add a bit of weight. :)
