This is Overstratum Lautmacher V1.0, a mastering limiter for Reaper. The script offers two distinct modes: a 4-band crossover mode for high spectral density and maximum loudness, and a singleband mode that better preserves natural dynamics and transients.
The technical highlight of this version is the implementation of ADAA (Anti-Derivative Anti-Aliasing). Instead of simply hard-clipping the waveform at the sample points, this algorithm uses antiderivatives to calculate the area under the curve. This almost entirely eliminates aliasing artifacts in the audible range. Additionally, 2-pole envelope smoothing ensures that gain modulation occurs without abrupt mathematical kinks, resulting in a cleaner sound.
The plugin includes an automatic analysis function that measures peaks and adjusts the gain to reach a specified LUFS target. The metering is frequency-corrected according to BS.1770 standards and remains precise across all sample rates.
Note: To prevent inter-sample peaks during extreme limiting, it is recommended to combine the internal hard clipping with Reaper's native FX oversampling.
