When I'm able to warm-up slowly and not rushed for time, I like to watch/listen to one of my favorites on YouTube, the one and only, Mr. Rick Beato. I can watch him for hours ! and I have !
Here I'm learning about compression from the Master himself. I try to use this multitasking exercise every time I have the opportunity. While feeling the pulse of the metronome and absorbing its ENERGY, I will internalize it and let the feet and hands do their own thing. It gets to a point to where AUTO-PILOT takes control.
I think we've all done this exercise without even knowing. As drummers, I think it's safe to say that we have all had the practice pad sitting there as we watched T.V. !!!
