Because #giraffe droppings are so small, you could imagine they originate from the body of a smaller animal like a rabbit.
Giraffes, like sheep, goats, and deer, are ruminants. They cannot digest grasses, foliage, and other plant material directly because their systems do not produce the enzymes required to break down cellulose.
Being ruminants giraffes have a four-chambered stomach. When they feed, digestion takes place in their multi-chambered stomach sequentially. The rumen is the first compartment where ingested plant stuff is stored and softened. Then, to further break down the cellulose component of the diet, it is regurgitated. After that, microorganisms in the stomach's reticulum, omasum, and abomasum break it down further.
Giraffes, like other ruminants, get all of their nutrients from their food. As a result, their droppings are so little because they are purely trash. However, Giraffes poop a lot to compensate for the small size of their waste, and can poop up to 15 kilogrammes daily.
