Who says the Kia Carnival Diesel looks boring, outdated, and can't be modified to be more elegant! Let's prove it, guys 😁😁
The first-generation Kia Carnival, from 2000 to 2003, emerged as a pioneering MPV with various superior features:
✅ Monocoque chassis
✅ Sliding doors
✅ Very spacious cabin that can accommodate 7 adult passengers
✅ Equipped with an electric sunroof
✅ Electric seats
✅ Captain's seats
✅ Switch steering control
✅ Roofrail + crossbar
✅ Triple blower AC
✅ Comfortable with a soundproof cabin and suspension typical of European cars
At that time, the Kia Carnival was accompanied by its sibling, the Hyundai Trajet, although it didn't have as sophisticated features as the Carnival. Its presence initially captivated Indonesian automotive enthusiasts, as Toyota was still relying on the Kijang Kapsul, not yet launching the Innova, or even the Alfa Romeo.
Then, in 2004, Toyota launched the Innova as a way to recapture the market that had been swayed by large Korean MPVs.
The first-generation Kia Carnival (2000-2003) available in Indonesia was offered with two engine options:
✅ 2.5-liter V6 gasoline engine with 177 PS
✅ 2.9-liter 4-cylinder TDI diesel engine with 144 PS
😓 The top-of-the-line 3.5-liter V6 engine was not included due to the lack of sales in the Indonesian market.
🤗 Both a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic transmission were available, although the automatic was more popular.
This diesel-powered Gajah MPV had been the official operational vehicle of JustSpeed_Jakarta for quite some time, and finally, in 2020 (after 20 years), we decided to restore it. To stay fresh and continue with JustSpeed. And now in 2022, we're giving it another facelift to make it even more elegant and stylish.
