Sarah's youngest son was diagnosed with T1D in spring of 2022. As the host of a hugely popular podcast, she heard from diabetes parents from all over, and was welcomed into the community very quickly.

Role vs Identity is an important difference. Especially as our kids get older, I think it's important to ask these questions - even if diabetes isn't in the picture. Are you ever "only" a mom?
It's sort of like how we called it "our" diabetes when Benny was a toddler, but had to find ways to change that language as he grew up and took ownership.
