Dianne Mattiace was diagnosed with type 1 as an adult, in her 40s. She says she got lucky with a doctor who recognized T1D right away. In 2018 Dianne became the first person in the US to get the then-newly approved Eversense.

We’ve done a bunch of episodes on Eversense, ever since those early days. It’s now approved for six months of use and Senseonics is seeking approval for a full year of wear. Eversense goes under the skin – your doctor has to place it and remove it – but once it’s in, there are no sensor changes for those six months.
