We recently spent some time at Quantum's new Denver facility doing some quick interviews for social media, and it's always a pleasure talking to Jamie, who shares his enthusiasm for the latest generation of storage.

Jamie Lerner, CEO: So I've been spending a lot of my time visiting our newest Myriad customers and learning what they're doing, and it's been pretty staggering to see what they're achieving. At the end of the day, Myriad is a completely new architecture for doing extremely high speed, machine automated analysis of unstructured data. But it's amazing whether it's in life sciences, whether it's in computer sciences, whether it's in academic research, how these next generation file systems, I mean, we call them file systems, but I'm not even sure they're file systems, they're really data curation systems. I mean, we think about a file system as NFS or S3 or SMB, and while it does have those protocols, really what they are are tables and schemas for navigating data to curate that data and process it in automated ways to come to completely different conclusions. And I've just never seen a storage system used that way, and it's pretty incredible to watch customers do that and fundamentally change in certain ways the course of mankind through a storage system. It's kind of amazing.
