Imagine Science Films (ISF) announces its partnership with the Marina Abramovic Institute (MAI) on a brand new science performance art series!

Please join Siena Oristaglio from MAI and Nona Griffin from ISF for an introduction to science performance art. Discussion questions will include: What are the parallels between performance art and science research? How does science inform performance art? How can science performance art impact science communication?

Siena Oristaglio, Director of Communications, Marina Abramovic Institute
Siena Oristaglio runs communications for Marina Abramovic Institute. She brings to this work her passion for the merging of art, science, education, and technology. Her international work and studies before joining MAI (with Le Laboratoire in Paris, Santa Reparata International School of Art in Florence, Bialik-Rogozin School for Children of Transnational Migrant Workers in Tel Aviv, Urbano Project in Boston, and The New School University in New York City) focused on connecting the public to these important areas and exploring new frontiers through the integration of arts and sciences.

Nona Griffin, Director of Communications, Imagine Science Films
Nona Griffin is a science writer with a passion for science communication. Originally from Sebastopol, CA, she moved to NYC to pursue fine arts and writing. After taking a liberal art elective on stem cell research, she switched gears to science and received her BA in Interdisciplinary Science from Eugene Lang College The New School for Liberal Arts. Since graduating, she has been a assistant for bioartist Mara Haseltine, a design studio producer for a healthcare PR firm, and a freelance science writer for Popular Science and Scientific American. Now as Director of Communications at Imagine Science Films, she has the opportunity to combine her interests of science, art and communication.
