Former Special Forces soldier Mason Pettits (John Cena) is bored to tears with his job at a mediocre law firm and his everyday life as a family man. When his old military buddy and boss of a shady private security firm (Christian Slater) offers him a job as a bodyguard for award-winning journalist Claire Wellington (Alison Brie), he doesn't hesitate for a second and accepts the assignment. His mission: to protect Claire on her trip to the South American country of Paldonia, where she is to become the first journalist ever to interview the infamous dictator Juan Arturo Venegas (Juan Pablo Raba).
