We had 110 people die in Texas yesterday. A new record. Nevertheless the numbers don't lie: we had a series of high dose exposure events down here, and you can literally see the positivity rates jump up in the days and weeks afterwards. And once again: those numbers were actually improving in the days before those events despite the fact that millions of filthy disease vectors like me weren't wearing masks in public. The toll even rattled my cage; and I don't know when we can get off this roller coaster. Nevertheless, there seems to be a light at the end of our tunnel: mortality rates have dropped again from 1.3% to 1.2%. It's not much. But I'll take it for now.

I also look at the death rates per 100,000 for the different races in Texas; adjusted for age. A gold standard it you want to compare apples to apples. The going Black Lives Matter theory is African-Americans aren't doing well because of their poverty. Which, of course, is my fault. But the numbers are clear: the Master Race actually isn't looking so good. In fact it's getting its lunch eaten.

By us white folks. Despite our relative poverty and obvious intellectual inferiority, we're beating the Asians by a mile.
