This is a raw video of a star or planet I shot this morning at 05:44 AM PST from my front yard, in Henderson, NV. I was facing east.
Just before sunrise I walked outside and saw this ultra bright light in the early morning sky and thought it was a plane. After a minute, it hadn't moved much so I got out my DSLR (Canon EOS 70D) and setup with my 500mm telephoto lens to shoot some pics and video.
I took 69 still photos and 6 videos between 2 to 3 minutes each. This is the best example.
In another video, the star / planet seems to be hexagonal in shape, but that's probably due to shakiness of the video.
In some of the photos, the star / planet seems almost like two stars, due to a slight separation in the center. Not sure what caused that effect.
I haven't done any research on this and would appreciate any feedback if anyone knows what this is.
