Tabasco Suite
Recorded live on May 19, 2007 at the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn, IL. "Tabasco Suite" is an instrumental medley of three folk tunes from the Mexican state of Tabasco: "Chiapanequita", "Flor de Maiz", and "El Tigre." The piece features Zacbe Pichardo on the Mexican marimba, which has a characteristic buzzing sound.
The studio version was released by Sones de Mexico Ensemble on the GRAMMY Nominated CD "Esta Tierra Es Tuya (This Land Is Your Land)" in 2007.
This live performance features Zacbe Pichardo-marimba, Victor Pichardo-marimba & tortoise shells, Juan Dies-bass, Juan Rivera-guitar, Lorena Iñiguez-guiro, Javier Saume-drums.
