La Presumida
Recorded live on May 19, 2007 at the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn, IL. "La Presumida" (the translation "The Conceited Woman" doesn't sound as good in English). This is a traditional huapango from the Huasteca region in Mexico.
This arrangement is by Victor Pichardo, and it features a "duel" between dancer "Lorena Iñiguez" and fiddler "Juan Rivera", trading forces.
The studio version was released by Sones de Mexico Ensemble on the GRAMMY Nominated CD "Esta Tierra Es Tuya (This Land Is Your Land)" in 2007.
