ASF history and virus characteristics
African Swine Fever (#ASF) is currently the greatest threat to the global pig sector. A viral disease, it affects both wild and domestic swine of all ages.
At present, ASF is found in Africa, Asia and Europe, with outbreaks in Germany focusing the attention of MSD Animal Health. We are currently working with expert @Dr. José Manuel Sánchez-Vizcaíno on an initiative to educate farm owners and veterinarians about ASF and how it can be tackled.
