Bernie Gerl Bobblehead Night
One of the most incredible events took place at Historic Wade Stadium on Friday, July 29th 2016 during a Duluth Huskies baseball game as Bernie Gerl of Joliet Illinois was honored with a bobblehead. Bernie survived a terrible bus crash in 1948 while his team the Duluth Dukes was traveling on Hwy 36 in St Paul MN and although he was badly burned and had his hopes of being a major league ball player crushed, he lived and boy did he live it up on this Friday night in Duluth.
