What is HBS Multi-Link?
Qualcomm is a global wireless connectivity leader, and that expertise extends to Wi-Fi 7 as well. At MWC 2022, we introduced the world’s first Wi-Fi 7 chipset, the Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 Mobile Connectivity System.
Qualcomm’s Wi-Fi 7 technology delivers the fastest, lowest-latency Wi-Fi with breakthrough High-Band Simultaneous (HBS) Multi-Link. Building on our leading-edge 4-stream Dual Band Simultaneous capabilities in the high-bands, our HBS implementation allows for massive throughput gains using 240MHz channels in the globally available 5GHz spectrum or 320MHz channels in the increasingly available 6GHz spectrum. Using these high bands simultaneously increases speed and responsiveness and makes performance more robust.
Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 builds on Qualcomm’s industry leadership in Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E. It takes the performance of our FastConnect chipsets to the next level, delivering incredible data rates and peak speeds of up to 5.8 Gbps. FastConnect 7800 also reduces latency to sub 2ms, enabling new use cases in Wi-Fi, improving Wi-Fi’s support for gaming, XR, and content creation, making 4K and 8K streaming and conferencing much more achievable.
