This is the mid-1800's Michael Egan Uilleann bagpipe set in the Boston Fine Arts Museum. The set is rough looking but is exquisite to see in person. The A key on the Baritone regulator is missing and the mount is snapped off as well. Also, the baritone drone is snapped off above the reed tenon stock mount and a ferrule and small bead mount can be seen sticking out from the stock. The method of display makes it difficult to see the re-curve bends of the bass drone but it all seems to be intact although its apparent that some work has been done to the brackets as Egan isn't known for sloppy soldering work. Their is some mystery as to why it appears that two separate reed caps feed into the same Contra-bass tubes and appear to join as one. It's apparent that their are aftermarket repairs and parts added to the set but it's brilliant regardless.
