Concertina Semi-Mini C/G Anglo
Cell Phone recording, sounds much better in person... 15 button + air button, Semi-Mini C/G Anglo Hybrid Concertina with Wheatstone layout. A-Mano hand made reeds. The size is 5” across the flats. The all leather bellows have 7 folds and are nice and airtight with Decorative papers. The air button is large enough for proper air function. The only deviation from the standard Wheatstone button layout is the C# which plays C# both directions. The idea for this layout came from Gary Coover’s book where it gives the layout for the most common buttons used to play most Irish Trad/Session music. I play in a local session and every tune we play can be played on this concertina. This layout is meant for playing Irish music across the rows with the standard Wheatstone layout with exception of the double C#. The left hand thumb button is a D4 drone button. The action frame wood is African Padauk.
Tunes that can be played are Off to California, Kesh Jig, Tripping Upstairs, Off She Goes, Gary Owen, Hag at the Churn, Britches Full of Stitches, Maggie in the Wood, Sean Ryan’s Polska, Geese in the Bog, The Butterfly, Comb your hair and curl it, Coach Road to Sligo, etc, etc.
