Hey, I'm here in Basel at Dolder. It's a chemical wholesaling company where they've implemented Intent-Based Leadership.
And I'm here at the receptionist’s - quote - receptionist desk. And there's a window into the hallway. This is where Suzy works. Now Suzy was, quote, a standard receptionist and was treated like a standard receptionist until they implemented Intent-Based Leadership.
Now, on the ground floor – it didn't look like this a year ago. And the company wanted to transform the ground floor to make them more open, more collaborative, a little more fun. They have this nice garden area out here. And then this wonderful coffee area for people to get together over here. And the team gets together at nine o'clock every day, and they have coffee at this table.
Who's in charge of the redesign? Suzy.
Because what they did was they let people get involved and Susie had a lot of things to say about what it would look like, of course, because she was the one who was sitting here all day long. And she had untapped knowledge, skills, capabilities that were just being wasted. And this is - for me - a wonderful story.
She since retired, but she's coming back from retirement because the company is now going to do the second floor and she's going to be in charge of managing that project.
