PROGRAM NOTE:
Not many things in life are as exciting as a good ol’ pirate adventure movie. Tidewater is just that, but instead of a movie, it’s a piece of music written for band. This work takes audience members on an exciting journey through a pirate adventure, maybe to find some gold or pillage a town! Tidewater is an excellent work for a mid-level band, pushing their limits in range, technique, and tempo. The excitement builds in range, dynamics, and density all towards the end, and a dramatic conclusion.
