Oct 14th, 2021 footage captured during a NASA Flight Opportunities flight test of the LUNAR EXOCAM payload system in Mojave CA. Contains proprietary in-camera ExoCam 360° FOV / 30 fps 5.4K HD video as well as split-screen computer pre-visualization rendering (produced with students at Arizona State University DREAM Lab).
ExoCam is a payload concept for remotely capturing video during final descent and landing of landers and rockets on remote bodies such as the Moon, Mars, etc. The 360° FOV cameras housed inside the protective caging seek to capture the entire spherical field of view, whereby select points of interest may then be focused on utilizing standard 16x9 aspect ratio editing software, as demonstrated in this video.
Flight was carried out on the Masten 'Xodiac' VTVL suborbital rocket, with the camera modules ejected at deployment heights of 25m and 15m respectively. Flight footage capture by Evan Rodaniche, Andrew Rodaniche, Masten Space Systems.
