The serpentine belt, also known as the accessory drive belt, is a vital component in all vehicles. It is responsible for driving several essential systems, making it a crucial part of your car's operation. A serpentine belt typically lasts between 50,000 and 100,000 miles, but this can vary depending on factors like driving conditions, maintenance, and the quality of the belt itself.

Replacing a serpentine belt when it shows signs of wear or damage is essential. A worn belt can lead to engine failure, loss of power, and accessory malfunctions.

The video shows how to remove and reinstall the serpentine belt (accessory drive belt) on the following 2nd generation Ford Escape vehicles equipped with a 2.5L engine. In this video, I raise the car using ramps to access the underside and replace the belt without removing the front passenger wheel.
