#1 Hot Spring in New Mexico
Last week we revisited one of our favorite hot springs of all time that we had discovered back in 2017! Gila Hot Springs and Campground is nestled at the very top of the mountain about 40 miles north of Silver City, New Mexico and four miles south of the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument.
The drive up is windy and absolutely breathtaking especially as the colors are changing in the fall. The campground features eight private, spacious sites (no RV hookups) and three naturally fed hot springs. The cost is $8 per person per night. Because of COVID there are no day soaking passes so the only ones with access to the springs are those spending the night on the grounds leading to empty pools and silent star gazing galore!
