கேரளத்தை சேர்ந்தவர் 67 வயதாகும் குஞ்சாம்பு. இவர் 50 ஆண்டுகளில் 1000க்கும் மேற்பட்ட நீர் சுரங்கங்களை தோண்டியுள்ளார். மலைகளின் பக்கவாட்டில் 2.5 அகலத்தில் நீர் ஆதாரத்தை நோக்கி சுரங்கங்கள் தோண்டப்படுகிறது. இந்த சுரங்கங்களின் சராசரி நீளம் 300 மீட்டர். சுரங்கத்தை நீர் ஆதாரத்துடன் இணைத்து விட்டால், அதிலிருந்து சுரக்கும் நீரை சேமிக்க அருகில் சிறிய நீர் தேக்கமும் உருவாக்கப்படுகிறது. எந்த விதமான உபகரணங்களும் இல்லாமல் நீரை சேமிக்க முடியும்.

He started digging at the age of 14 is now one of the very few suranga diggers left in the country and claims that thus far, he has dug out over 1000 of these cave-like wells.
