Update Jan 22, 2026:
Starbase has not received an update to the live server still and no updates to the test universe since the one discussed in the video mentioned below. The devs have mentioned that they have a new other game soon to come out, and that may or may not help fund further Starbase development. So, please only buy or play the game now if you are happy with the current features. I suggest waiting for a sale, either way.
The short answer is it's not dead, it is being worked on by a small team and we s̵h̵o̵u̵l̵d̵ ̵h̵e̵a̵r̵ ̵s̵o̵m̵e̵ ̵n̵e̵w̵s̵ ̵i̵n̵ ̵A̵p̵r̵i̵l̵ ̵2̵0̵2̵4̵ ̵(̵n̵e̵x̵t̵ ̵m̵o̵n̵t̵h̵ ̵f̵r̵o̵m̵ ̵t̵h̵e̵ ̵t̵i̵m̵e̵ ̵o̵f̵ ̵w̵r̵i̵t̵i̵n̵g̵ ̵o̵f̵ ̵t̵h̵i̵s̵)̵ HAVE ACCESS TO A TEST VERSION OF THE GAME WITH MANY NEW FEATURES Go check out the video! After that, we should be able to get our hands on something new to play with in at least 6-12 months.
