How to Make 16th Century Iron Gall Ink
This week our guest, Lucas Tucker of Scribal Workshop (you may remember him from last week when he joined us on the podcast, Ep 164 of That Shakespeare Life), is here to show us how to make iron gall ink the way Shakespeare would have made it.

2) Wine (Optional) You can make this without the wine, just omit that step. It will slightly impact the color but will not be an issue.
3) Vinegar (can use apple cider vinegar, red wine vinegar, or other vinegar).

5) Stainless Steel pot (Lucas tells us that you can reuse this pot, but we did not. We chose to buy a small stainless steel pot just for this activity to eliminate any worries over contamination--plus, we will be making this recipe again, so it made sense to have an ink making pot on hand.
