The first state through which the historic Route 66 passes is Illinois. From Chicago to St. Louis. I had a day and a half for this route, which housed the Rock-n-Roll Museum in Joliet, 2 museums of Route 66 in Pontiac and Litchfield, the house of Abraham Lincoln in Springfield (the state capital, by the way) and a bunch of passing landscapes from agricultural fields and small classic American towns. And even a historic piece of Route 66 near Auburn, made of brick!
