Less than a month after the devastating shooting that took place in Las Vegas Nevada, Americans still have more questions than answers. The shooting, which took place from a hotel suite, hundreds of feet in the air, rained literal hell down on hundreds of innocent concert goers. The death toll was over fifty, with more than five hundred more wounded.
One of the biggest questions that have needed to be answered is one concerning the first security guard on the scene. The Mandalay Bay hotel security guard, Jesus Campos, was the first to call in the shooting to their security department, and he himself was shot in the process.
The only problem is that Campos has changed his story multiple times and dodged interviews. Now, according to the Daily Mail , we learn that Campos not only ducked out of his interviews, but rented a car and left the country:
“Jesus Campos, the Mandalay Bay security guard who’s a key witness in the Las Vegas shooting, skipped town just days after the massacre, a new report reveals.
On Wednesday, Fox News‘ Tucker Carlson received a document showing that Campos reentered the country from Mexico a week after the shooting.
The Customs and Border Patrol document didn’t say how long he had been in the country, or his reason for traveling south of the border.
All it showed was that he crossed back into the U.S. on October 8 via the San Ysidro border check in California and appeared to be driving a rental car with California plates.
Fox News obtained a document showing Jesus Campos (right) crossed into the U.S. from Mexico on October 8 – a week after the Las Vegas shooting. He’s pictured appearing on the Ellen show for his only interview shortly after returning to the country
The document raises several questions – the biggest being why investigators would have let Campos out of the country so soon after the shooting when he was one of the key witnesses.
It’s also unclear how he physically could have completed the trip, driving hundreds of miles when he had recently suffered a gunshot wound to his leg.
The nation was already confused enough when Campos dodged reporters and their cameras, moments before giving a live interview. Now we know that he left the country in a rented car, bringing even more suspicion to the case. At that time, no one was really looking into Campos. But because of his disappearance, journalists started digging. What they discovered was reported here at Freedom Daily by Amanda Shea:
“Investigative reporter Laura Loomer obtained an exclusive report about Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos who was shot in the hallway by Stephen Paddock.
It appears Campos shared a Social Security number with a person named Jesus Quintero.
Loomer tweeted, “EXCLUSIVE: #JesusCampos intel report reveals he shared SSN w/ Jesus Quintero. Is #JesusCampos an illegal alien? Does @MGMResortsIntl know?”
While illegal aliens have been an issue for quite some time, it’s obvious in situations like these that if someone with a little more integrity had been filling that position, the police might have had an advantage. As it is, someone whose concern was for their own safety saw that they might be investigated and discovered as an illegal, and fled to protect himself.
Another problem for Campos is the fact that he wasn’t a licensed security guard at all. Probably because of that little citizenship issue, he didn’t hold the required certification that he should have had. Would things have gone differently if he’d been properly trained? At this point, we may never know. And while we can all feel badly for someone who was shot for no reason, he should never have been there in the first place.
Our Source has a few more details about Campos latest story of how he was called to the shooters’ floor, and how he got shot:
“Campos was shot at Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock when he went to the 32nd floor to look into an emergency exit door that wasn’t opening. Above, officers responding to the shooting on October 1
Questions continue to swirl around Campos’ place in the shooting timeline. Initial reports were that Campos was shot after gunman Stephen Paddock had stopped shooting. Then police then changed the timeline to say he was shot before the shooting commenced. The most recent timeline says he was shot shortly after Paddock went on the rampage.
He resurfaced two weeks ago when he sat down for an interview with Ellen DeGeneres – saying it would be the first and only time that he talked about the matter.
In the interview, Campos gave his recollections of the night but didn’t reveal much new information.
