SEAN STRICKLAND GOES OFF ON KHAMZAT CHIMAEV & UFC
In this latest outburst, former middleweight champion Sean Strickland has gone after both the UFC and fellow fighter Khamzat Chimaev. Strickland, known for his outspoken nature, didn’t hold back as he criticized the UFC for what he perceives as forgetting its roots as an American company. He also directed strong comments toward Chimaev, questioning his background and ties. #SeanStrickland #KhamzatChimaev #UFC
Since losing his middleweight title in January, Strickland has been vocal about wanting a rematch with Dricus Du Plessis, especially after his win over Paulo Costa in June. Strickland has made it clear that he’s willing to wait for the UFC to offer him a title shot, refusing to take any other fights in the meantime. However, Du Plessis' camp has hinted that Robert Whittaker might be next in line for a title shot instead.
Strickland’s rant surfaced in the comment section of a post where Chimaev praised Alex Pereira. He accused Chimaev of having questionable ties and made some harsh comments about Chimaev's background. Strickland even went as far as saying Chimaev should not be allowed in the U.S., stirring up more controversy.
This isn’t the first time Strickland has made headlines for his bold statements, and his remarks about Chimaev are sure to add fuel to the fire. Despite Chimaev’s silence for now, many expect him to respond soon, especially given their ongoing tension. With both fighters eager for a title shot, this verbal clash only adds to the drama surrounding the UFC middleweight division.
