In this lesson, we'll learn how to automatically fill dates in Excel using formulas and also through VBA.
In this example, we want to know when the entire spreadsheet was updated, but we also want to know, individually, when a record/asset in our table was last updated.
To know when the entire spreadsheet was updated, we can use the NOW() function, which solves our problem, since each new update in any cell in the spreadsheet will update the cell with the function.
To update assets, we want their update date to be updated only when their value changes.
To achieve this level of update, we'll need to use VBA using some conditions.
So, we'll learn two ways to set an automatic date in Excel.
