Quail Ridge Golf Course Winter Review
Quail Ridge Golf Club was purchased in 2017 and the restoration process started. In just two years they have tremendously improved this track. In the past, QR has hosted a US Open qualifier and even an ACC Championship match. In it's darkest days it couldn't even be auctioned off, they talked about building apartments and simply closing it down for good.
I think the 3 new owners have done a fantastic job regaining local golfer trust and rebuilding QR's reputation. Starting with a very welcoming attitude and finishing with quality food and drinks in their grill...they keep trending in the right direction. Summer 2019 should really just be a preview to many more fortunate years.
They offer loyalty/member cards that make it just $35.00 to play all year. They are also getting added back to some of the package deals from Southern Pines and Pinehurst. The owners always believed this course would attract a ton of golfers due to is proximity to the prestigious courses just south and off of Route 1. I think dubbing QR as the "Gateway to the Sandhills" is totally appropriate.
