Patsy and Dave Unveil Heartfelt Remembrance Day Tribute with Time Stands Still
Melbourne country duo Patsy and Dave release their new single, Time Stands Still, on November 4, a moving tribute for Remembrance Day.
Written by celebrated Nashville songwriter and producer Kenny Royster, & Lonnie Williams Time Stands Still is a stirring ballad that honours those left behind after the Vietnam War and the enduring legacy of lost love.
Crafted to capture the heartache of war and the irreversible impact it has on those who remain, Time Stands Still tells the story of a woman who never truly recovers from the loss of her soulmate.
Royster, who handpicked the song for Patsy and Dave, felt David’s voice uniquely suited to convey the emotional depth of this timeless story. The result is what Patsy described as “a real tearjerker” that taps into the storytelling heart of country music, creating space for listeners to envision their own interpretations of the song’s imagery.
“We love ballads and this is a story of a woman who never recovered from her loss,” Patsy said.
“In terms of us, we love the storytelling we love the fact that country music enables us to tell stories through our music.”
The song’s release is complemented by an evocative music video premiering on November 6, which brings the story to life and highlights the effects of war on those left behind.
Patsy said Remembrance Day had always been special to the duo and they wanted to highlight the harmful effects of war through this tragic love story.
“I’ve always marked the day with veterans and I used to spend it with my father, and this release feels like a fitting way to honour veterans and those left behind on Remembrance Day,” she said.
The release of Time Stands Still follows the duo’s recent success with their chart-topping album, The Willow, with this single lifted from the album.
