After my girlfriend and I had a lovely picnic at Dixieland Park, we decided to drive to downtown Harlingen to check out any rail activity.
We saw headlights from the north...but THIS TRAIN took us by surprise! It came from the south end, and we had just enough time to set up my camera. Unfortunately, aiming the camera right across the street towards the light post was not a great idea (hence, the fuzziness). The HL69 led by SD70M #4848 in long hood forward, brings the inbound for RVSC at a gentle speed.
Once the HL69 cleared the main at 14:22, the conductor notifies the dispatcher to clear his track warrant and in turn gives the train we saw from the north (UP 5169) the okay to proceed south...recorded in the next video!
Its stupid to do what homeboy did at 4:25...even stupider when you drive right in front of the camera at 4:46!
