How does a toilet flapper work?

Hello, and welcome to ‘how to’ with Korky. Today, we will teach you how a flapper works. The flapper is the part of the toilet that drains water from the tank and into the bowl when you flush. Because every toilet is different, flappers come in various designs and models, including specific fit. The Korky Plus flapper fits a majority of toilets and is made of premium chlorine resistant material to last longer. The water in the tank keeps the flapper sealed against the flush valve opening. The flapper is attached to the tank lever by a chain, and when the tank lever is pressed, the chain lifts the flapper. Because the flapper ball is filled with air, the flapper floats on the surface of the water. Water can now enter the bowl through the flush valve opening. When the tank is empty, the flapper can no longer float, and falls back into the flush valve opening and seals it. Now the fill valve can refill the tank. This was ‘how to’ with Korky.
