How to delete a Firefox profile
Below are the Steps as to how to delete a Firefox profile in your windows or mac computer. Deleting a profile may be necessary when resetting Firefox completely or wiping out your personal data.
Method 1: Using Firefox Profile Manager
Open Firefox Profile Manager: Launch Firefox browser on your computer.
Access Profile Manager: Type "about:profiles" in the address bar and press Enter. This will open the Firefox Profile Manager.
Select Profile to Delete: In the Profile Manager, you'll see a list of profiles. Click on the profile you want to delete to select it.
Delete Profile: Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the "Delete Profile" button. Confirm the deletion when prompted.
Restart Firefox: Close Firefox and reopen it to ensure the changes take effect. The selected profile will now be deleted.
Method 2: Manual Deletion
Close Firefox: Ensure that Firefox browser is closed before proceeding.
Locate Firefox Profile Folder:
On Windows:
Open File Explorer and navigate to "C:\Users[YourUsername]\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles".
You'll find folders with random characters and dots. Each folder represents a Firefox profile.
On macOS:
Open Finder and navigate to "~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/".
On Linux:
Open your file manager and go to "~/.mozilla/firefox/".
Identify Profile to Delete: Each folder inside the Profiles directory corresponds to a Firefox profile. Identify the folder corresponding to the profile you want to delete.
Delete Profile Folder: Right-click on the folder of the profile you want to delete and select "Move to Trash" (on macOS) or "Delete" (on Windows/Linux). Alternatively, you can press Shift + Delete (Windows) or Command + Delete (macOS) to permanently delete the folder.
Empty Trash (Optional): If you moved the profile folder to the Trash, remember to empty the Trash to completely delete the profile files.
Restart Firefox: Open Firefox again. The deleted profile will no longer be available.
